The Sharing Center Awarded $342,865 from Big Nova Foundation to Renovate Oasis Showers and Facilitie

The Sharing Center is honored to receive a $342,865 grant from the Big Nova Foundation to renovate its Oasis facilities including the bathrooms and showers that provide dignity and relief to neighbors experiencing homelessness.

For many, a shower is a simple part of the day. But for those living without shelter, it represents so much more, a moment of dignity, warmth, and renewal. Within the Oasis, individuals can access not only hygiene services but also compassion, conversation, and connection – a reminder that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

This transformative grant builds on Big Nova’s continued generosity, including a $10,000 contribution last year that strengthened The Sharing Center’s core programs. Big Nova’s commitment to uplifting community organizations – such as their support of Second Harvest Food Bank, which helps keep our pantry shelves stocked – demonstrates its deep investment in addressing hunger and homelessness across Central Florida.

“We are deeply grateful for Big Nova’s partnership and belief in our mission,” said Tekoa Pouerie, President & CEO of The Sharing Center. “Together, we are restoring humanity and creating pathways toward stability and hope one shower and one story at a time.”

The Oasis renovation will ensure continued access to safe, clean, and welcoming facilities for individuals and families in need, reinforcing The Sharing Center’s mission to prevent hunger and homelessness while promoting dignity, stability, and self-sufficiency for all.
