The City of Sanford is excited to announce C.A.R.E. Week, taking place November 17–20, a week-long initiative designed to support employees, promote professional growth, and highlight the city’s commitment to being Community-Focused, Accountable, Resilient, and Environmentally Responsible (C.A.R.E.).
The C.A.R.E. Initiative directly supports the city’s newly adopted Strategic Plan, vision, and mission by fostering a workplace culture centered on excellence, collaboration, and responsiveness. C.A.R.E. Week aligns employee development with the Strategic Plan’s priorities, helping the city achieve long-term goals and strengthen its commitment to the community.
By investing in employee growth, engagement, and community connection, the program ensures that Sanford’s workforce is empowered to deliver high-quality services, uphold organizational values, and build stronger relationships with the residents and businesses they serve. The city encourages employees to participate in these engaging sessions and hands-on activities, designed to foster collaboration, connection, and a stronger workplace culture.
C.A.R.E. Week features a variety of opportunities for employees to engage in, such as professional development, wellness, and community service. Highlights include interactive webinars on relationships, accountability, and leadership, presentations on employee programs and benefits, and sessions focused on customer service, budgeting, and workplace growth. Employees also have the chance to participate in community-driven initiatives, such as supporting local food drives.
“Our Strategic Plan emphasizes organizational excellence and C.A.R.E. Week reinforces our dedication to professional development, workplace well-being, and environmental stewardship,” said Norton Bonaparte, City Manager, “by investing in our staff, we are investing in the future of Sanford.”
