Description

Seminole County's Leading Technology Think Tank

TOPIC:
Automotive Tech

SPEAKERS:
Christopher Emmanuel, Director of Infrastructure & Governance Policy, Florida Chamber of Commerce

Christopher Emmanuel is the Director of Infrastructure & Governance Policy at the Florida Chamber of Commerce, where he serves as the primary advocate for transportation, utilities, energy, and property rights issues on behalf of the state’s largest business association. In this role, he has advised Fortune 500 companies and statewide political campaigns, and advocates at the local, state, and federal levels of government. Emmanuel also leads Autonomous Florida, the state’s advocacy group for Autonomous, Connected, Electric, and Shared Vehicles.

Emmanuel frequently speaks and writes about the public policy implications of changing demographics, politics, and technology. His commentary has appeared in nearly every Florida newspaper as well as a few national periodicals.

Emmanuel holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Florida and J.D. from the Florida State College of Law. Emmanuel sits on the Florida Transportation Plan Committee, serves a Railroad Advocate for GoRail, advises the international non-profit New Story, and is a member of the James Madison Institute’s Board of Advisors. He is a member of the Federalist Society, a graduate of Leadership Florida Connect, and is admitted into the Florida Bar. Emmanuel and his wife live in Tallahassee.

Casey Fernandez, Client Executive, Hylant

Casey Fernandez from Hylant and he will be discussing what it will look like in the age of autonomous vehicles as it relates to insurance. He right now supports middle-market organizations who have no idea what their rate of return is on their insurance spend.  Organizations over $10 million in revenue who are not 100% sure the risks they have are adequately addressed. C-level executives who recognize their industries are changing rapidly – but haven’t strategically involved risk in preparing for the future.

Casey specializes in Executive Risk and Cyber Liability with his clients. Hylant is a 750 employee Risk and Insurance brokerage, helping clients worldwide.

SeminoleTech, a group for tech executives and enthusiasts brings together the region's talent for a high-level discussion about tech.

As we reopen Seminole County, our top priority is the safety of all our members and guests. After all, you can't provide jobs and grow our economy while you are sick.

We're confident that with your help, we can keep our community working and allow us to provide the networking and relationship-building events you have loved for years.

For now, our event guidelines will be:

  • All host venues will be adhering to current guidelines regarding setup and cleaning schedules
  • All Council meetings are now RSVP mandatory so we can comply with venue capacities and a socially-distanced setup
  • Masks, fist bumps and elbow rubs are encouraged, handshakes and hugs are discouraged
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at check-in
  • Temperatures may be scanned at check-in. If anyone has a temperature over 100 degrees, they will not be admitted.

Plus, we trust that you will stay home if you (or someone in your household) has

  • Had a fever in last 24 hours
  • Had a cough, congestion or runny nose
  • Have been exposed to someone who tested positive in the past two weeks.

By following these simple regulations, we know we will be able to have great meetings and networking and open Seminole County safely!

Attendance at or participation in SCC meetings and events constitutes an agreement by the registrant to SCC's use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee's image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of all events and activities
