Description

The Professional Women's Luncheon has set the standard for showcasing successful women in an environment that is inspiring and exciting.  At each lunch, a high-profile woman shares her life story, giving attendees a look into the struggles and accomplishments of women throughout Central Florida.  Likewise, the luncheon is attended by successful businesswomen who participate in special activities designed to facilitate introductions.

During this luncheon, a community leader will share her inspiring personal story and professional journey, which may include recollections of violent and/or traumatic events. We encourage all guests to prioritize their own well-being and consider their tolerance for these topics when deciding whether or not to attend.

SPEAKER:
Michelle Maikisch, executive director, Central Florida Expressway Authority

Michelle Maikisch is the Executive Director of the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), leading one of the nation’s most innovative regional transportation and tolling agencies. She oversees a 125-mile expressway system serving the residents, visitors, and businesses across five counties: Brevard, Lake, Seminole, Orange, and Osceola. Under her leadership, CFX is focused on enhancing mobility and connectivity throughout the rapidly growing Central Florida region.
With over 20 years of leadership experience at CFX, Michelle has held several key roles, most recently serving as Chief of Staff and Public Affairs prior to becoming Executive Director. In this role, she helped steer the agency’s strategic vision and communications, always prioritizing operational excellence and a customer-first approach.
Michelle’s tenure has marked significant milestones for CFX. In 2024, the agency achieved its highest bond rating in history—AA-—reflecting strong financial health, operational integrity, and regional momentum. CFX also continues to maintain a 98% customer satisfaction rating for E-PASS, Florida’s first toll pass, highlighting the agency’s commitment to innovation and service.
Currently, Michelle is leading the execution of CFX’s $4 billion five-year work plan to build, operate, and maintain vital infrastructure that supports the region’s dynamic growth. This ambitious investment is tailored to meet the transportation needs of more than 3.5 million residents and 80 million annual visitors, with a strong focus on long-term solutions that provide access.
Under her guidance, CFX has launched groundbreaking initiatives in tolling and smart mobility, including Florida’s first Flex Lanes and a comprehensive Wrong-Way Driving Detection program—both aimed at improving safety and efficiency. She is also advancing connected vehicle technology and data-driven decision-making as part of CFX’s next-generation transportation strategy.
Michelle is a strong advocate for regional collaboration and community engagement, ensuring CFX’s innovations meet the evolving needs of Central Florida’s diverse population. Her leadership continues to position the agency at the forefront of modern transportation solutions.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and is an active member of several national transportation and infrastructure organizations. Her dedication to building smarter, more connected communities fuels her vision for the future of mobility.
Michelle’s achievements have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition in Florida Trend 500, Orlando Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful People, Orlando Business Journal’s Most Influential, and WTS Central Florida’s Woman of the Year.
